Our first “Celebrity of the Week” is Justin Bieber. Besides making chart topping music and gearing up for a world tour, Biebs won the hearts of fans everywhere when he met and married 6-year-old Avalanna Routh this past February.
Avalanna was a Bieber SUPERFAN who was fighting a AT/RT, a rare and very aggressive form of brain cancer. Four months after their “wedding,” Justin surprised Avalanna and her family by flying them out to a secret performance in New York. He even brought Avalanna on stage and serenaded her during his performance of “1 Less Lonely Girl.” Sadly, Avalanna lost her battle to AT/RT on Sept 26. Justin sent a series of emotional tweets upon hearing the news of Avalanna’s passing but he didn’t stop there.
On the September 29th opening night of Justin’s “Believe” tour in Glendale, Arizona, he performed a touching tribute to Avalanna, which included a montage of pictures of the happy “couple.” At the end of the show Justin tweeted, “Goodnight Avalanna. Tonight was for you. I love you.”
