Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood has been tapped as host for a new beer and wine day party, Saturday, July 26. Bushwick Beverages will feature beer and wine selections from more than two dozen craft breweries distributed by SKI, Union, Manhattan, Serene and Fenix, along with offerings from local artisan wineries led by Sadat X (Brand Nubian) and Jason Armstrong.
Sponsored by ginger beer imprint Crabbie’s, Bushwick Beverages has partnered with venues lining Troutman Street between St. Nicholas and Wyckoff Avenues, including Lot 45, AP Café, Rookery and Union Pizza to host the tastings. There will also be special performances by all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache and R&B duo Julia & Terrance, along with music provided by White House DJ Christopher Sealey and Fuse TV’s DJ CEO.
The day-long event is the brainchild of Arts+Crafts, Inc., the marketing and co-production team behind last year’s highly successful Tap+Cork Brooklyn Beer & Wine Festival.
“This will be the ultimate indoor/outdoor block party that combines the best of beer and wine tastings from more than two dozen brands, along with great food and music offerings,” said Tai Allen, creative director of Arts+Crafts & TapCork. “And, room for over two thousand friends.”
The event has already earned support from community leaders, including New York City Council Member Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. (D-36). “I’m thrilled that Arts+Crafts, Inc. understands the importance of supporting the vibrant small businesses that operate in our communities on a daily basis,” said Cornegy. “These merchants employ our neighbors and allow us to spend our dollars where we rest our heads. They also express and shape this community’s unique culture.”
Bushwick Beverages is Arts+Crafts’ second installment in a series of Summer In The City events planned through September highlighting the music and cultures of New York City. The kick-off event was held in Fort Greene Park in conjunction with Make Music New York’s annual city-wide music festival.
Bushwick Beverages takes place Saturday, July 26, 2pm-7pm, along Troutman Street, between St. Nicholas and Wyckoff avenues. Tickets are $20 in advance, $30 at the door. Ticket price includes 10 drink tickets. Additional drink tickets may be purchased on site in bundles of five for $5. Events sponsors include Crabbie’s, YRB Magazine and DW World Media.
