“I Saw You” nominated for 2012 NPA “Spoken Word Single of the Year”
June 1, 2012 (NY) — Spoken soul rocker (i am) isis has been nominated for the 2012 National Poetry Awards “Spoken Word Single of the Year” for her latest offering, “I Saw You”.
Since its release, “I Saw You” has been dubbed a “bluesy funk for the new millennium”. The soulful track is a tremendous nod to her spoken word roots, while keeping with her affinity for rock-infused guitars and thrashing delivery. “I Saw You” has become a fan favorite during her live shows and can be previewed at http://iamisis.bandcamp.com/track/i-saw-you. It is also available for purchase in all major online outlets, including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
In its third year, the National Poetry Awards was founded to nationally recognize and support emerging and established poets in craft. Past winners include Talaam Acey, Mahogany Browne and Tai Allen.
Online voting for the finalists takes place now through June 20 on the National Poetry Awards’ official site. Winners will be announced August 18 at the National Poetry Awards ceremony at the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission, located at 6185 Delmar Blvd in Missouri.
